Question:
Is PRP effective for women with androgenetic hair loss? It sounds promising for men. Is there any reason it would not work for women?

Answer:
Yes, platelet-rich plasma (PRP) would be as effective for women as men with androgenetic and/or genetic hair loss. However, it is still unproven and the verdict is still out as to whether or not PRP is going to have a significant place in the field of hair restoration surgery.

There are some things that we feel already PRP may improve as far as wound healing, less shock loss of existing hair and stronger hair growth of the original hair. Beyond that at this point we do not know what other advantages PRP will play in hair restoration; however, I do feel that there is equal advantage for both females and males.
