Is hair transplant surgery permanent?
For the most part, the hair transplant is permanent. However, every person has some hair loss over the entire scalp including the donor area with aging, usually in the 5-10% range. This is age-related hair loss not genetic/male pattern hair loss. Even if hairs are moved from one donor area to another location on the scalp, that same 5-10% could fall out with aging. -
When can I return to work after having an HT?
That would depend on what type of work you do. Generally, we recommend no strenuous activity for 10-14 days. You could return to work the next day as long as you keep your scalp covered and are not participating in any strenuous activities. -
When can I resume working out after having a Hair Transplant?
We generally recommend no strenuous physical activity for 1 week. Then light exercise during the second week May resume full activities after that. With patients who choose the FUT technique that has a suture on the back of the scalp, we recommend no over flexion of the neck for 1 month (chin to chest movements). -
How long do I have to wait to dye my hair after having a hair transplant?
I generally recommend to my patients that dye their hair regularly to have hair dyed one week prior to the procedure. They can then dye hair again 4 weeks after the procedure.
